SpongeBob SquarePants' News & Updates: 'The Patrick Show' Spinoff In The Works? Nickelodeon To Release More Episodes After Seasons 10 and 11?

 

Rumors about "Spongebob SquarePants" cancellation that initially went out were immediately ended by Nickelodeon when it announced on Twitter that it will continue airing the episodes of the show's seasons 9 and 10. However, talks about the "Patrick Show" spinoff that surfaced at the peak of the controversy have neither been confirmed nor denied by the TV network, at least for now.

Despite the soaring popularity of the cartoon show "SpongeBob Squarepants," which encompassed almost two decades, an alarming meme previously bombarded the series claiming that it was cancelled for good by its home network. Hashtagged with #SpongeBobForever, Nickelodeon showed its love for its longest-running children's show when it took to Twitter to address the speculations, saying, "Breaking News: October 17th is nothing more than a Monday. @SpongeBob is NOT being cancelled!"

 

Furthermore, "SpongeBob Squarepants" seasons 10 and 11 are reportedly in their major production stage. The season 10 premiere episode entitled "Whirlybrains" pushed through with its release schedule on Oct. 15. The episode featured SpongeBob and his best pal Patrick starting to grow addiction to drones. Thus, the excitement of fans to see more of their favorite cartoon character can be left as is as all these proofs possibly hint at more episodes and seasons for the show.

In another update, speculations have it that Nickelodeon is planning to release a solo series for Patrick Star with a tentative title "The Patrick Show." In addition, the fact that the previous two seasons of the show suffered viewership ratings decline had fans wondering if the alleged spinoff will serve as a replacement for the kid-favorite cartoon "SpongeBob SquarePants." However, these talks are believed to be mere offshoots of the cancellation rumors that came out earlier. The TV network has not given its final word about the buzz yet, thus leaving "The Patrick Show" theories still swirling.

"Spongebob Squarepants" has occupied a position of unexpected cultural significance for a long time now. It ingrained its iconic opening theme song into the minds and hearts of audiences, making it an anthem of most people's childhood. The innocent humor that came with the characters of the show is also said to be a prime reason that "SpongeBob SquarePants" was able to run for 17 years to date. As the rumor lead to more emotional outcry in Twitter and other social media platform, Snopes decided to breakdown the image claiming the show’s cancellation. Fortunately, the odds weren’t against us.

 

It was confirmed by the rumor shattering website Snopes that the image claiming the termination of the show was a hoax. Furthermore, the memes were just means of aid to grow the outreach of the fabricated image.

Snopes were also able to point out the rumor with official confirmation from Nickelodeon representative. However, it wasn’t enough to pressures the fake news.  The credible report unfortunately failed to reach every “SpongeBob Squarepants” fans. Fortunately, Nickelodeon decided to step in to clear the unnecessary chaos among their audience.

Nickelodeon tweeted from their official channel stating that there’s “Breaking News”. The tweet went on that “October 17th is nothing more than a Monday.” Fans can check it out below.

 

The rumors also led fans to believe that “SpongeBob Squarepants” season 10 and 11 were scrapped off. However, IMDb has confirmed that season 10’s first episode titled “Whirlybrains” was said to have been aired on October 15th this year.
